Fallout 3, the next generation

So. I know at least some of you are Fallout fanatics. There has to be at leas a small handful.

Those of you that aren't, you've either never played the games, or are broken. See a shrink, or buy a copy of the games. The first two anyway. Tactics was terrible.

Anyway. If you're interested, the whole article can be found here

As you can see, Emil Pagliarulo is attached as the lead designer. If you're not familier with the name, you might be familier with his work. He did the Life of The Party level in Thief II, and did the miscellaneous quests in Bloodmoon, a Morrowind expansion. He also worked on Oblivion, specifically the Dark Brotherhood quests/missions (However you want to refer to them) and the Arena.

There's been so much speculation, already, about Fallout 3. I've not kept up to date with the latest rumour-mill works of art, because frankly, it's likely to ruin the game (Either by being right or being so off the mark that the game becomes the shitpile it shouldn't). I am interested by the 'thirty-thousand lines of dialogue' part. I'm wondering how rounded that figure is, and how many will be with the same characters, or how many versions of the same line come from unimportant NPC's. It's going to be interesting - Fortunately slated for a Fall 2008 release, so it's not far (At the rate my days are slipping by) off now.

There is no point to this other than my rambling about Fallout 3, incase you were wondering.

Sadly I have never played a fallout game before, but despite this number 3 is one of most anticipated releases of the year. They haven't shown much but everything I have seen looks impressive.

Go and get them right now.

I don't care if stores are closed, or you have no spare money, just go and get them.

I'm glad they've been reletively tight lipped on the project (In comparison to say, Molyneux and the original Fable) - It should provide for a much more engaging game.

I'm hoping the story is really in depth, I'd hate to see Bethesda return to shooters and suck major balls at it.

          Yes. Yes they are.

They make Smash Brothers look like the deformed offspring of a rotten banana peel and tomaco :)

Well tomaco is pretty good stuff.

But ok I will take your word for it, and start working on hunting them down.

              Pentium 90 MHz, 16 MB RAM, DirectX 3.0a or 5.0, 2x CD-ROM, SVGA, DirectSound-compatible sound card.

Those are the system requirements for Fallout. Fallout 2 is hardly much higher :B

    Won The Internet

This is one of the greatest series ever. Between the original combat system (which is turn based with a grid system for movement) and the RPG style of character improvement...as well as the character creation which makes the game different every time you play it.

The story is fuckin sweet ass and overall the game is fun as hell. I agree with Nirach, every respectable gamer must at least try these games. Immediately.
