I remember back in the days when I played Duke Nukem 3D, that had some AWESOME midi tracks, and I was so happy when I found them.
Similar story with Unreal (the first one of the series). Immediately loved the music while playing. And months later I finally found a guy on Napster who had some tracks, and I started downloading. He PM'ed me asking why I did that and explained to me how I could listen to/convert the UMX tracks right from the game directory. You have no idea how that made my day. ;] And even now, 8 years later, the music is still one of my favourites, always takes me back to that strange but beautiful planet..
My current "god" from the business is Kelly Bailey (who made all the music for the Half-Life games).

And the UT music was fantastic, no doubt. I do have them somewhere, but where is another question entirely
I've got the HL OST's floating around, but I think my lack of love for the series has caused me not to listen to them much. I really ought to, having spent the time to get them, but.. So much effort

I still need to get the damned thing installed so I can play it again. Bleeding Vista doesn't seem to like installing it for me. Ahwell.
At least it's not like EA, with .big files for EVERYTHING.

I reset the PRAM, reset the power management controller chip and even restored permissions to no fuckin' avail.
Might have to go to Brum to get it fixed, but its not like I use it. The last time I used it was for taking some drunken portraits in Kendal.

I'm not counting games that have mainstream music (N2O, GT, NFS:U, etc.) for their soundtracks...at least from my own collection.
OH! OMG. I can't believe I almost forgot. Nathan McCree did all the music for Tomb Raider...but the menu music, that really soft, chillax track that plays when you're navigating the main menu? I can listen to that for hooooours on loop. Especially if I'm in pain. It helps. A lot. A lot a lot.

I reall love the Metal Gear Solid menu music, it's not as relaxing, but it's really good for late night gaming and the like. I'd listen to it now if the search in Foobar wasn't farked >.>
