I'm using.. Err, whatever the starting ship is for the Minmitar, Slasher or something?
I need something with enough firepower to kill things, because of the way I play games (Brute force and ignorance), half decent shields might be a good plan, but looking through the ship listings, it all means a fat lot of nothing to me. I'm just about getting the hand of fitting my ships weapons, and that's pretty confusing :B

Either way, after Destroyers and a bit of skill training in guns, power grid etc, a good place to go is Cruisers. The Rupture and Stabber are great Minmatar cruiser ships for both PVP and Missions.
I don't fly Minmatar but I'll try to answer any other questions you have. It all depends on what you're doing really. As for fitting your ship the EVE Fitting Tool is a great program. I think it can be found in the Ships & Modules forum for the EVE site. You can probably find some more useful Minmatar information there as well.

Though, for money, mining seems to be the way forwards. I mean, seriously, I'm not doing badly, even with my pathetic mining laser and small-ass cargo hold.
Oh, and the other thing. I want to train in the engineer levels so I can use power boosters (The newer of the two accounts has power issues if there's a second weapon fitted), but I don't seem to be able to select anything but show info. I'm guessing I've missed out on something in terms of training to take the skill?
