Eve is also more expensive than most MMO's.
It is worth the cash, though. It's so immense. Everyone there is so helpful, too. ɤLume and ɤGoldRogers have both helped me a lot with information and tips. And I'm still barely treading water in the game, there's so much to think about.

I would suggest grabbing it as soon as you can afford it, though. I'd prepare by reading a lot before you get in there, and decide (even if it's roughly) what you want to do with the game, because that will make it even more enthralling.

What I do know is, you can do pretty much anything that makes you happy.
Obviously the two you mentioned, Miner and Pirate, but then there are corporations that're basically PMC's, there are mercenaries, people who play the market. Those're the things I know about, but I still know bugger all about this game, in comparison to what there is available.

WoW/EQ2/SWG/COH/COV/L2/EVE all $14.95. And most MMOs make you pay $40-50 for the game up front, EVE only makes you pay $5.
Is that not the case in the UK?

It's not down to the company - It's just that the exchange rate is pisspoor for pound to euro, but since the UK is part of the EU they charge us on a Euro basis.
Right now, a monthly Eve sub is £11.

Almost all MMOs here are exactly the same price.
The only one's that are different are the ones that are not really full MMOs.
Like Hellgate is only $9 something, and some others are lower. But everything else is $14.95-99

The money may sound like a lot, but it's not once you get deep into the game after two or three months. Then the game is essentially free. What other MMO do you know that can pay for itself? I haven't paid for EVE in 3 months.
